We use Personal Information as required by provincial and federal regulators to comply with applicable law, including but not limited to the Consumer Protection Act, PIPEDA, provincial privacy laws, anti-money laundering legislation, and other regulations related to consumer lending, credit reporting, and financial Services. This includes using your information for credit assessment, identity verification, fraud prevention, and promoting safe and responsible lending practices.

  • If attending iCash’s offices, We may capture images and recordings of you by video and audio recording devices in order to maintain the physical security of our offices. ICash has no control over cameras that may be placed in the common areas of the buildings its offices are located in.

  • When you use one of your devices (e.g. laptop, mobile phone, desktop computer) to browse our Website, We receive certain information about your device, including its hardware model, operating system, browser version, IP addresses, and geographic information derived from IP addresses.

When using our Mobile App

With your consent, iCash captures precise location data by accessing your device's GPS to deliver Services tailored to your whereabouts, including alerts on proximal rewards partners. This feature can be deactivated at any time through your device's location service settings, allowing you full control over your privacy preferences. Additionally, upon opting in, iCash can send push notifications to your device, encompassing welcoming messages, insights into product features, and exclusive promotional offers. Preferences for receiving these notifications can be adjusted by disabling push notifications for the App in your device's settings, ensuring a personalized user experience.

We collect necessary device and usage information, including device type, operating system, unique identifiers, IP address, language settings, and app access timestamps. This collection is required for basic app functionality and service improvement, as permitted under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws. This data assists in analyzing app engagement levels, enabling continuous improvements to the app's performance and the personalization of content within the app. To further refine our offerings, iCash may employ third-party Services to gather analytical insights regarding app feature usage and engagement duration.

ICash is committed to maintaining transparency regarding the collection, utilization, and sharing of information within the constraints imposed by external platforms like Apple and Google. While we strive to clearly communicate our practices, it's important to recognize that certain tracking activities by these platform providers or your telecommunications carrier fall outside our jurisdiction. We advise users to thoroughly review and understand the privacy policies of any third-party providers, including those related to Android and iOS apps, as well as those of their telecommunications provider, before proceeding with any app downloads or making any purchases, ensuring a well-informed app interaction and purchase decision-making process.

Automated Decision Making

When we process your Personal Information, we may use automated decision-making systems to help provide better products and Services to you (including identity verification, creditworthiness assessment, and risk evaluation), for security, anti-money laundering, and fraud detection/prevention purposes, in accordance with PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws. While these automated systems help us make lending decisions, final credit decisions may involve human review. Information You Provide to Us

To access most financial products and Services we offer you need to have an iCash profile. In order to create it, we collect your email address, phone number, and a password that you select. We use this information to administer and authenticate your access our platform, to enable you to access products and Services, and to update you about changes to our platform.

Other information we collect directly from you on or through our Website or mobile application may include: 

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms on our Website or mobile application. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with our Website or mobile application.

  • Records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us.

If you submit contact details or identification information of another individual (for example, a counterparty or an authorized user), you confirm that you have obtained their consent to share their personal information with us, including their full name, email, and telephone number (and for business contacts, their account details). You must inform them about our privacy policy and their rights under Canadian privacy laws.

When you apply for financial products and Services with us, we may collect additional information from you as follows:

Credit Products and Services: If you apply for a credit product, including, but not limited to, any credit products offered, we collect additional financial information, including income related information, living situation (i.e., move-in date, and whether you rent, own or live with family), housing costs, living expenses (e.g., utilities) to assess your creditworthiness, and to confirm your eligibility for our credit products. We may run credit checks through Canadian credit reporting agencies to assess your eligibility for credit products and determine appropriate credit limits. By applying for our credit products, you expressly authorize us to obtain and use your credit reports from credit reporting agencies including but not limited to Equifax Canada and TransUnion Canada. We may also use your financial and transaction information, payment history, and parties to transactions, to deliver the financial products and Services to you, and provide you with relevant information about your account.

Provision of Financial Products and Services

In the event that you possess an iCash profile and have received approval for any product or service provided by iCash, we will utilize your financial and transactional details. This includes payment records, and transaction participants, for the purpose of furnishing you with the designated financial products and Services, along with pertinent account information. To communicate with you regarding updates to these financial products and Services, as well as to dispatch critical information concerning the initiation of financial accounts and beneficial notifications about your financial accounts, we may employ various methods of contact such as your telephone number, email, or physical mailing address. These communications may be conveyed through mail, email, SMS (where message and data rates might be applicable), push notifications, or direct calls.

Where we store your information

Personal Information you provide to us is stored in secure facilities located in Canada, the United States, and the Philippines. For residents of Quebec, specific provincial privacy laws apply to the handling of your information. 

The degree of sensitivity of each of these storage sites has been established. All Personal Information stored there is adequately secured and access to them is restricted to authorized persons only.  

When we transfer your information to other jurisdictions, including to jurisdictions outside of the province in which you reside (which may include transfer outside of Quebec for Quebec residents) and outside of Canada, we ensure a comparable level of protection through appropriate safeguards and written agreements as required by PIPEDA. Such transfers may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions and may be accessed by courts, law enforcement and governmental authorities in accordance with those laws.   • To our subsidiaries and affiliates, including those that may be located outside Quebec or Canada.

  • In accordance with applicable law, to a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of iCash’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by iCash about our customers and users is among the assets transferred.

  • To advertisers and advertising networks that require the information to select and serve relevant advertisements to you and others. We do not disclose data about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we may provide them with aggregate information about our users. We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers target a specific audience. We may make use of the Personal Information we have collected from you to enable us to display our advertisers' advertisements to that target audience.

  • To third parties to offer or advertise third-party products which may be of interest to you. We contractually require these third parties to keep Personal Information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them. We may also share information to our insurance partners to the extent that it is required to provide our Services.

  • To third-party credit reporting agencies for business purposes that include but are not limited to investigating and monitoring of internal business practices, providing and supply of Services to you; for research, testing and development of products offered by iCash; to detect security breaches and protect against them. Prior to any such disclosures of Personal Information, we will ensure appropriate contractual agreements are in place that will ensure the protection, security and use for the above-mentioned purposes between us and any third party.

  • We may engage third-party service providers to verify the authenticity of identification documents and perform facial recognition to validate your identity. These providers are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality and security of your Personal Information and use it solely for the purpose of identity verification. By providing your information to us, you consent to the use of such third-party Services, acknowledging that these processes are essential for ensuring security and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • To help us collect debt owed to us, we may share, sell, transfer or assign your contact information, financial information, and account details with third parties including collection agencies, credit bureaus, and law firms specialized in debt collection practices. You expressly consent to such sharing of information for debt collection purposes, in accordance with applicable provincial collection laws. This includes reporting delinquent accounts to Canadian credit bureaus which may negatively impact your credit score. 

  • To provide, improve, and develop our products and Services, which include updating, securing, and troubleshooting.

  • To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business (such as analytics and search engine providers that assist us with Website improvement and optimization, data processing, customer service, security, etc.) and who are contractually obligated to keep Personal Information confidential, use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them, and to process the Personal Information with the same standards set out in this policy. The use of the collected data

We collect, use, and disclose Personal Information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances and as required or permitted by applicable privacy laws, including PIPEDA and provincial privacy legislation, which include providing financial Services to our customers under lease agreements. We collect and process only the Personal Information that is necessary for these specified purposes. We collect Personal Information primarily from you, for instance through applications and supporting documentation you provide. By submitting an application, you expressly consent to credit checks and authorize us to obtain credit reports from credit reporting agencies. We may retain phone logs, recordings, and meeting notes for quality assurance training, compliance, legal requirements, and record keeping purposes. You consent to the recording and monitoring of such communications for these purposes, as permitted under applicable Canadian federal and provincial laws including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You acknowledge that recordings may be used as evidence in legal proceedings. We may use the collected data for the purpose of responding to requests made pursuant to this privacy policy, including for verification purposes. We may also collect Personal Information about you through your ongoing interactions with us, from references, employers, and other financial institutions you have identified in your application as well as credit bureaus and other third-party sources. Credit Checks

When you apply for financial products and Services offered by us, we collect, share and disclose identity information, financial information, and transactional information from and to third parties (including but not limited to screening Services, telecom providers, credit reporting agencies such as TransUnion and/or Equifax, and other relevant service providers) as necessary for credit assessment, fraud prevention, and risk management purposes.

We use your name, address, Social Insurance Number (SIN), and date of birth to obtain certain credit, financial, personal, and business information contained in your credit report, to the extent provided by a credit bureau, for the purposes of verifying your creditworthiness, assessing and managing our credit risks, establishing credit and hold limits, qualifying you for other products and Services, detecting and preventing fraud, and making other decisions about your account. You expressly consent to our collection and use of your SIN for credit reporting and income verification purposes, as permitted by applicable privacy laws. The provision of your SIN is optional but may help prevent credit reporting errors. We may also share information with credit reporting agencies on an ongoing basis in order for the credit reporting agencies to maintain accurate credit information within their databases, in accordance with applicable laws.

Additionally, we may share your information with credit reporting agencies on an ongoing basis to maintain the accuracy of credit records in compliance with applicable laws.

We may also collect and exchange Personal Information with consumer and credit reporting agencies regarding negative information such as late payments, missed payments, or defaults. This authorization remains valid throughout the duration of your relationship with us and as required by applicable laws.

Rights and Personal Data

We allow you to manage your account and information you provided. Once you log in, you may update your Personal Information, if your account is in good standing and hasn't been deactivated.
